Macau Portuguese Egg Tarts
Portuguese Egg Tarts – making flaky crusts and egg fillings. An outer pastry crust filled with egg custard and baked till caramelized till top browned.
It originated in the Coloane village in South Macau. Coloane is home to the original Lord Stow’s Bakery which pioneered the creation of this exclusive tart. The bakery was opened in 1989 by Andrew Stow.

WHAT YOU LEARN
Understanding the theory, ingredients and learn the skills and technique in making a flaky pastry crust and creamy egg filling
- Make your own pastry crust for the shells of the Portuguese egg tart.
- Knead, Chill and Shape the crust.
- Prepare the egg tarts fillings
- Assembly of the crust shells with the fillings and bake
- Bring home Portuguese Egg Tarts made in class.

- Individual station. No sharing with other participants. 100% Hands-on.
- Small Class Size (2 to 8 participants)
