Egg Tart – this version of tarts will have an outer short crust pastry filled with egg custard and baked.  They are a kind of custard tart found in Cantonese cuisine derived from the English custard tart. The dish consists of an outer short crust filled with egg custard.  They are often served at dim sum restaurants, commonly available in Hong Kong and other Asian countries.  It is also popular pastry sold in bakeries and cafes and is beloved by the locals.

Understanding the theory, ingredients and learn the skills and technique in making a short crust pastry and cooking of the eggs fillings for the delicious Hong Kong Crispy Egg Tarts.

  • Make your own pastry crust for the shells of the Hong Kong egg tart.
  • Knead and Shape the short crust pastry and bake
  • Prepare  the egg tarts fillings
  • Assembly of the crust shells and egg tarts fillings
  • Adjustment of oven temperature to ensure it does not overcooked
  • Bring home the Hong Kong Egg Tarts made in class.
