Layers Flaky Egg Tarts – Chinese method making the Flaky pastry crust, filled with home cooked egg custard.
The Egg tarts or egg custard tarts is a pastry. Commonly found in Hong Kong and other Asian countries. The tarts consist of an outer pastry crust that is filled with egg custard and baked.
Duration: Approx 2- 2.5 hours
WHAT YOU LEARN
Understanding the theory, ingredients and learn the skills and technique in making a flaky pastry crust using Chinese kneading method; Cooking of the eggs fillings for the famous Hong Kong flaky Tarts and they are usually served in Chinese Dim Sum Restaurant.
- Make your own chinese style pastry crust for the shells of the Hong Kong Flaky Egg Tart.
- Knead and Shape the crust pastry and bake
- Prepare the egg tarts fillings
- Assembly of the crust shells and egg tarts fillings
- Adjustment of oven temperature to ensure it does not overcooked
- Bring home the Egg Tarts made in class.

- Individual station. No sharing with other participants. 100% Hands-on.
