Steamed Radish Cake (港式萝卜糕) is a popular Cantonese dim sum dish. It is not too difficult to make, just with a bit more afford in preparation. It can be eaten as is or can be kept frozen and thawed to be pan-fried when needed. It can be eaten in two variations, pan-fried or steamed.
The golden chinese steamed Pumpkin Cake (金瓜糕) is a typical and popular Chinese savoury snack enjoyed by those who yearn for traditional steamed cakes. Pumpkin adds a natural sweetness and gives this steamed pumpkin cake such a beautiful and vibrant golden auspicious colour.

Understanding the theory, ingredients and learn the skills and technique in making both kinds of traditional steamed cakes – Cantonese Steamed Radish Cake (港式萝卜糕) and Ah Ma’s Pumpkin Cake (金瓜糕)
- Preparing and cutting all the vegetables and fillings.
- Preparing and mixing the batter for both Radish Cake and Pumpkin Cake.
- Cook under hook, and Steam in the steamer for both Radish Cake and Pumpkin Cake.
- Take note of the do’s and don’t in cooking and steaming both Radish Cake and Pumpkin Cake.
- Learn different ways to consume these steamed cakes.
