Scone and Kaya
Scone is a kind of bread that is baked on a griddle or sheet. Best eaten when they are very hot and freshly baked right from the oven, accompanied with melting warm butter.
Kaya is a type of popular Southeast Asia spread / Jam. It is a sweet spread made from a base of coconut milk, eggs, sugar and sometimes pandan leaves / Gula Melaka as a flavouring. As a popular local spread, kaya is typically spread on toast to make kaya toast and eaten in the morning, but is also enjoyed throughout the day. Kaya can be found in most kopitiam and night markets.
