Chwee Kueh – steamed rice cake originating in Teochew cuisine that is served with preserved radish (Chye-Po). One of the common and popular traditional breakfast or snack in Singapore served in many of its hawker centres.

WHAT YOU LEARN

Understanding the theory, ingredients and learn the skills and technique in making traditional Teo Chew kueh – Chwee Kueh (steamed Rice Cake) and the filling with preserved radish (Chye-po)

  • Learn how to adjust different ingredients to create different texture of your preferred kueh.
  • Use the right method to prepare the Chwee Kueh to ensure less failure rate, especially for beginner.
  • Prepare and fry the filling (Chye-po) to go with the steamed kueh.
  • Bring home Chwee Kueh and Chye-po home to enjoy the snack.
