Chwee Kueh and Chye-Po filling
Chwee Kueh – steamed rice cake originating in Teochew cuisine that is served with preserved radish (Chye-Po). One of the common and popular traditional breakfast or snack in Singapore served in many of its hawker centres.
Duration: Approx 2 hours.
WHAT YOU LEARN
Understanding the theory, ingredients and learn the skills and technique in making traditional Teo Chew kueh – Chwee Kueh (steamed Rice Cake) and the filling with preserved radish (Chye-po)
- Learn how to adjust different ingredients to create different texture of your preferred kueh.
- Use the right method to prepare the Chwee Kueh to ensure less failure rate, especially for beginner.
- Prepare and fry the filling (Chye-po) to go with the steamed kueh.
- Bring home Chwee Kueh and Chye-po home to enjoy the snack.

- Individual station. No sharing with other participants. 100% Hands-on.
