3 Sessions Mooncakes Making Class

Chinese bakery product traditionally eaten during the Mid-Autumn Festival (中秋節). The festival is about lunar appreciation and Moon watching, and mooncakes are regarded as an indispensable delicacy. Mooncakes are offered between friends or on family gatherings while celebrating the festival.

WHAT YOU LEARN

Understanding the theory, ingredients and learn the skills and technique in making various type of Mooncakes, include

  • Session 1: Snowskin Mooncakes (2 hours)
  • Session 2: Traditional Bake mooncakes, Shanghai Walnut mooncakes and Teochew Flaky Spiral Mooncakes (4 hours)
  • Session 3: Agar Agar Mooncakes (4 hours)

 

No premix flour is used in class, you are going to knead the dough from scratch, wrap the fillings, form the shape.  During the class, we are using premium mooncake paste (not from Phoon Huat), healthier version less sugar and oil.  No artificial sweetener is used.  For those interested to make the fillings at home, recipe of making different fillings will be provided with explanation.  You will bring home the mooncakes made by yourself in class and enjoy with your family members or friends.

 


COURSE FEE

  • $288 per participant
  • Individual station.  No sharing with other participants. 100% Hands-on.
  • Small Class Size (2 to 8 participants)
  • You can request for your preferred date and time with minimum 2 pax if our published schedule does not meet your requirement.
