Cranberry and Pistachio Biscotti Baking Class

Biscotti.  The word Biscotto, used in modern Italian to refer to a biscuit (or cookie) of any kind, originates from the medieval Latin word biscoctus, meaning “twice-cooked”. It characterised oven-baked goods that were baked twice, so they became very dry and could be stored for long periods of time.

Since they are very dry, biscotti traditionally are served with a drink, into which they may be dunked. In Italy they are typically served as an after-dinner dessert with a Tuscan fortified wine called vin santo.  Outside of Italy, they more frequently accompany coffee, including cappuccinos and lattes, or black tea.  In Catalonia, carquinyolis are usually served with a small glass of a sweet dessert wine, such as muscat or moscatell.

WHAT YOU LEARN

Understanding the theory, ingredients and learn the skills and technique in making Biscotti cookies.  In class,  you are going to hands-on kneading the dough with Cranberries and Pistachio nuts added in for the sweetness and crunchiness. 

Individual station, no sharing with other participants to ensure you got the feel of making your own dough. 

You will:

  • Mixing & Kneading the Biscotti classic dough, with  Cranberries and Pistachio nuts.
  • Shaping and baking of Dough.
  • Cutting and baking of Biscotti cookies.
  • Sharing the creating of varieties using the given recipe, and the storage of the cookies.
  • Bring home the lovely Biscotti made in class.

 


COURSE FEE

  • $100 per participant.
  • Individual station.  No sharing with other participants. 100% Hands-on.
  • Small Class Size (2 to 8 participants).
  • You can request for your preferred date and time with minimum 2 pax if our published schedule does not meet your requirement.
